Premier Fitness

Tyler - Fitness Center

Premier Fitness is a health and fitness club that was established in November 1998. The company had been leasing its facilities in a shopping center and had outgrown its existing facilities and needed larger and more diversified space. As a result GTCC assisted in the purchase of land, construction, equipment for a new 15,750 square foot building.

"I first met John Hart in 2001 & I’ve worked with him on several loans since that time. John has been invaluable to me – he has introduced me to other key service providers, guided me through unfamiliar territory, and made the loan process simple & easy for me. John is extremely thorough, always told me what to expect, and is the utmost professional. I especially appreciate that John has always approached my business with an open mind and has been willing to hear what I have to say. When he can, he provides advice. But more importantly, he instilled a sense of confidence in me that if I did my part, my dreams would all come true."

Tyler - Restaurant

The owners of Coyote Sam’s Bar & Grill have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. In 2006, GTCC assisted the owners in obtaining a SBA 504 loan to assist with the land purchase and construction of a new restaurant which combined their two existing restaurants, at the time, into one, unique and attractive facility in a premier location. The new restaurant provides seating up to 200 and has a large bar area that overlooks picturesque outdoor patio along a tree lined creek.

“John Hart and Rhonda Goldthorn are efficient, thorough, and very detailed. What a pleasure! My transaction had some complexity and snags but not with John & Rhonda.  No matter how much time it took to get it right or to explain it – they were there patiently working with me. This truly could have been my worst nightmare but because of their expertise and knowledge it wasn’t! I never had to wonder what was going on or what was next. They advised me when they could & simply could not do anything better. I appreciate them so very much!”

Dallas - Retail office building

Diamond Doctor was established in 2003 and is one of the largest retailers of diamonds throughout Texas and across the country. The Diamond Doctor is “the official jeweler of the Dallas Cowboys” and is a frequent advertiser on local DFW radio with endorsements from many media and sports celebrities.

Diamond Doctor has been renting space in a 2,200 square foot office building with restricted visibility and access. GTCC and the partnering bank provided funds to purchase a 6,960 square foot building along with improvements and equipment. The new location will allow them to more than double in sales with much greater visibility and access along with the ability to manufacture and manage operations more efficiently.

“Greg Dunn is absolutely terrific. Before I embarked on the loan process everyone told me that it would be a hassle and that it would be cumbersome. But my mortgage broker (who knows Greg) and I talked and we agreed that the loan terms were worth it. I was very surprised when the process turned out to be seamless and easy. In fact, the loan was the easiest part of this entire transaction! I can also say that Greg has a great working relationship with the bank and my loan would have never happened without Greg’s active involvement. Greg truly helped me fulfill something that (more than once) was slipping away. They really couldn’t do anything better – they already over-delivered by 1000%!”

Tyler - Retail Clothing Store

Harley’s & Bridgette’s  Harley Hooper has owned and operated The Suit Club, Inc and its predecessor, Harley’s Menswear since 1979.  The business has evolved over that time to become one of the distinguished and well known menswear stores in the East Texas area.  Harley’s carries top-of-the-line menswear brands and also offers tuxedo sales and rentals.  The business outgrew its rental space and in 2006 relocated to a new, upscale facility just two blocks away, which not only insured retention of existing customers, but resulted in a vast improvement in customer exposure and convenience.

Harley’s wife Bridgette has owned and operated her ladies ready to wear boutique since August of 1992, and has 23 years of experience in the women’s retail clothing industry in Tyler.    Relocation of both stores to the same location allowed some consolidation of overhead, including accounting and administrative functions.  It also created a “destination” retail center for men, women, and children of all ages.

“I’ve known John Hart for a long time…perhaps 20 or 25 years now.  I’ve had many SBA loans over the years but John always told me that when I was ready to build my commercial real estate – come talk to him and he’d tell me if the project would work or not.  He reviewed all of my information and said ‘we can do this’.  From that point forward John was our greatest advocate.  He handled everything very, very professionally.  After all, a borrower’s greatest fear is the paperwork & red tape.  I didn’t have the time or inclination to tackle it.  But John helped us.  He’s a complete joy to work with and he did a tremendous job.  And he works with some great folks over there.  Because of my experience with them I have become a walking, talking advertisement for SBA loans.”

“Greg was very helpful throughout my loan process. He made it easier than I had expected because he helped facilitate everything. When dealing with a government program you really need someone like Greg who understands all of the paperwork and can help you get through it all.”

“I was first introduced to John Hart in 1999 when my business was just a thought and a dream.  I truly had no clue about how to get a loan but John led me through the entire process with ‘white glove’ treatment.  His help and the loan I received led to the creation of a successful business – now proudly entering our 11th year.  I recently approached John for another loan.  There was just no question about who I wanted to work with & I suppose that amounts to the highest recommendation that a borrower can provide.  No doubt – John is very knowledgeable, very astute, and has the backing of a great Board of Directors.  He is also compassionate and I can’t emphasize enough how important this is.  Borrowers are naturally nervous during the loan process but he reassured us.  He took us through the entire process from start to finish and was there to answer our questions and made sure we knew what to expect.  He didn’t just throw a pile of papers at us – he coached us.  John is simply an outstanding person.  I knew exactly how to run my business once the doors were open but I needed help to get to that point.  John gave me that help and I’ll always be grateful.”

“John was recommended to me by my accountant and my real estate broker as someone who really knows small business lending.  They had previous experience with him and I have to say, John really, really helped me when it mattered most.  I had gotten pretty frustrated trying to find a bank because when a business is first starting out it is difficult to get capital.  John paired me with a bank and without his help I would not have been able to start my business.  It is obvious to me that John has a great financial mind.  He and his team were a real God-send to me.”
