John Hart, President
As president and CEO, John Hart leads GTCC with a comprehensive understanding of government guaranteed lending, financial expertise, professional accounting proficiency, and personal integrity. Under his direction, GTCC has become the fastest growing CDC in Texas and one of the premier CDCs in the five-state SBA Region VI. For more than two decades, John’s ability to match the needs of small business owners with lenders and SBA programs has generated tremendous success, evidenced by over $500 million in funded SBA 504 and 7a projects in more than 1,000 loan applications. He currently oversees all operations, represents GTCC at SBA meetings and events, and promotes the 504 loan program to lenders, businesses, economic development agencies and others in the marketplace.
Prior to the formation of GTCC, John operated Source Funding, a company that specialized in assisting banks and borrowers in screening, packaging, and placing government guaranteed loans. His professional experience as a CPA with the firms, Arms, Jeffers and Co. and Bryant & Wellborn in Tyler, Texas was enhanced by his earlier work as senior accountant with Ernst & Ernst in Fort Worth, Texas, concentrating on bank auditing and compliance. John also owned and operated his own CPA practice for 12 years, specializing in small business clients. John is a native of East Texas and earned a BBA in Accounting at Texas Tech University.
His commitment to the industry and community is evidenced by service to many civic and professional organizations. He is the current President of the North Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders and a committee member of the National Association of Development Companies. Locally, he is on the Board of Directors of the Tyler Economic Development Council and a member of the Northeast Texas Economic Developers Round Table. John also pursues a special ministry to small business owners and managers, “Business by the Book.” He conducts seminars and small group meetings on this subject.

Judy Loden, Vice President & Portfolio Manager
Judy Loden serves as Vice President and Portfolio Manager for GTCC. She oversees servicing of the loan portfolio, including preparation and maintenance of records and information for reporting as required by GTCC and SBA. She has a longstanding record of success in small business development. Judy was the 2008 Financial Services Champion of the Year for SBA’s Dallas/Fort Worth District Office after securing over $100 million in loans, helping to create and retain over 2,800 jobs in a five county rural area within five years. From 1987 to June 2007, Judy was the director of the Small Business Development Center for Trinity Valley Community College and received the association’s state star award in 2005. She co-founded the first biotech manufacturing incubator in the United States. In the late 1990s, she served as an Economic Development Specialist for a Public Administration Program for the Eastern European country of Macedonia under the US Agency for International Development.
Judy holds a Masters in Industrial Technology/Business from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is also certified as a Fas Trac Instructor by the Kaufman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and as a Nex Level Instructor by the University of Colorado. Additionally, she serves on the economic development advisory board of the Texas Engineering Extension Service, a member of the Texas A & M University System.

Greg Dunn, Vice President Business Development

Greg Dunn joined Greater Texas Capital Corporation in January 2009 and is responsible for marketing and business development within Texas, concentrating on the DFW and Houston markets. Prior to joining GTCC, Greg served in various management, sales, and credit capacities for Principal Financial, Lehman Brothers, Zion’s Bank, Heller Financial, and community banks. Throughout his 25 year financial career, Greg’s market segment has been small business lending in conventional, conduit and government loan programs.
Greg is a native of Oklahoma and received his B.S. in Business Administration from East Central University and has completed courses in the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Greg is an active advocate for small business and a member of the North Texas Association Government Guaranty Lenders, Houston Association Government Guaranteed Lenders (HAGGL), National Association Development of Companies (NADCO), and National Association Government Guaranty Lenders (NAGGL). Greg resides with his family in Coppell, Texas.

Nancy Hart, Closing Officer
Since 2002, Nancy Hart has served as GTCC’s office manager and loan closing officer. Prior to joining the company, Nancy had 13 very successful years in business sales with Alltel Wireless and its predecessors. Nancy’s duties include client and lender contact, reconciliation of any changes that may occur throughout the loan process, review and approval of appraisals and environmental reports, and coordination of loan closings between the borrower, lender, and our CDC closing attorney. Nancy brings to the business a high level of professionalism and excellent organizational skills. Her many years of field contact with the business community has helped Nancy to develop excellent people skills, which is essential when dealing with 504 borrowers and lenders during the loan closing process.

Rhonda Goldthorn, Loan Packager
Rhonda Goldthorn serves GTCC in a variety of roles, most prominently as Loan Packager. She initiates the 504 loan processing function by interfacing with lenders and borrowers to assimilate loan data and input data received into the company’s SBA loan processing software prior to loan underwriting. Rhonda provides constant communication with the borrower and first lien lenders throughout the approval process.
Rhonda joined GTCC in 2002 and has lived in East Texas since 1983. She served in Law Enforcement for many years and earned her Peace Officer License in 1994. She has worked in all fields, including Police Officer, Court Clerk, 911 Operator and Police and Fire Dispatcher. With this background, Rhonda has the ability to multitask and handle stressful situations with ease.

Michael Hart, Servicing Officer
As Servicing Officer, Michael Hart assures that client files stay compliant with current servicing requirements on a monthly basis, which includes updating data such as insurance coverage, financial statements, and evidence of property tax payments. He also conducts periodic site inspections at project locations during construction and after completion. He joined GTCC in November 2007 and brings excellent computer skills to the firm. His previous experience in hospitality management in Destin, Florida refined Michael’s skills in dealing with customers under high-pressure circumstances. Michael is a 2003 graduate of Texas Tech University. Michael is on the board of directors of the Tyler Sunrise Rotary Club, the Smith County YMCA, and Mustard Seed Ministries.

Todd Buchanan, Loan Officer
Todd Buchanan, a business advisor since 2006, utilizes his strong corporate background to help GTCC clients find the best solutions for their business needs. He is experienced in finance, operations, business transactions, and securing access to capital. He also has extensive relationships with the investment community. Todd's experience includes seventeen years in the corporate world as senior management. Positions include VP of Operations for a national division of Verizon Wireless, Director of Finance, and Director of Inventory Operations where he developed and executed the centralization of nine regional hubs into a national distribution center.
Prior to Verizon, Todd ran the Financial Planning & Analysis department for a $300MM division of Air Touch Communications, corporate accounting roles with WebLink Wireless where he assisted with their IPO efforts, as well two debt deals. Todd earned a BA in Accounting from Texas Lutheran College in 1989, passed the Texas CPA exam in 1991 (not licensed) and currently serves on several boards.
